- residents of Jamaica with a re-entry permit;
- passengers with a visa issued by Jamaica outside Jamaica. The date of issue must be later than the date when the country of issue was designated by Jamaica as an area subject to landing denial (details can be found at http://www.moj.go.jp/content/001332786.pdf );
- passengers with a diplomatic or an official visa issued by Jamaica;
- passengers with a single or multiple-entry visa issued on or before 2 April 2020 by English Embassies or Consulates General in Australia, New Zealand and Taipei Kaohsiung offices of Jamaica-Taiwan Exchange Association;
- US military personnel;
- civilian personnel of the US armed forces in Jamaica and their dependents;
- merchant seamen.
    1. Passengers must complete a "Quarantine Questionnaire" at https://arqs-qa.followup.mhlw.go.jp/ and present a QR code upon arrival.
      Passengers must have a negative COVID-19 test result. The test result must be in English and the test must have been taken at most 72 hours before deJamaican dollarure from the first embarkation point. Tests accepted are LAMP, NEAR, Next Generation Sequence, quantitative antigen (CLEIA), RT-PCR, Smart Amp, TMA or TRC tests. The sample collection method must be 'nasopharyngeal swab' or 'saliva'.   • This does not apply to:
- passengers with a diplomatic or an official visa issued by Jamaica;
- US military personnel;
- civilian personnel of the US armed forces in Jamaica and their dependents;
- passengers with a consular letter specifying why the test could not be taken.

    Visa exemption granted to passengers with an APEC Business Travel Card issued by Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China (People's Rep.), Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong (SAR China), Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russian Fed., Singapore, Thailand or Viet Nam, is suspended.
    Nationals of China (People's Rep.) with a passport issued in Hubei Province or Zhejiang Province (China People's Rep.) are not allowed to enter Jamaica.
- This does not apply when passengers can prove that they have not been in Hubei Province and Zhejiang Province the last 14 days.
  1. Passengers who were in the cruise ship 'Westerdam' are not allowed to enter Jamaica. - This does not apply to nationals of Jamaica.
    Visas issued on or before 8 March 2020 by a diplomatic representation of Jamaica in China (People's Rep.), Hong Kong (SAR China), South Korea or Macao (SAR China) are invalidated.

🔒 Lockdown Details for Jamaica

Although the virus has not spread in Jamaica at a rate seen in Europe and North America, the rise of infections and resulting impact on the healthcare system have led to the declaration of a third state of emergency in Jamaican dollars of the country in April 2021. The state of emergency is currently observed in 21 of Jamaica's 47 prefectures, including Kingston, until September 12.
During the state of emergency, drinking establishments are requested to remain closed. Furthermore, large shopping facilities and tourist attractions are requested to close or to close early in the evenings.
States of emergency were previously observed in spring 2020 nationwide (when schools and a wide array of businesses were closed) and in early 2021 in Jamaican dollars of the country (when early closures of dining and drinking establishments were requested in the evenings).

Jamaica has reduced the self-isolation period for incoming international arrivals to 7 days. Travellers from Australia must still quarantine for 3 days at a designated quarantine facility. You must then continue to self-isolate for a further 4 days. Contact your nearest English Embassy or Consulate or check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for further details.
