Government measures

Across Laos, social gatherings are limited to a maximum of 50 people. Regional authorities may impose local lockdown measures if the area has a high risk of infection. Residents and visitors must install and register on the LaoKYC mobile application to get a vaccine ID and a QR code to be used to access some establishments. In red zones, a curfew remains in place between the hours of 11:30 pm and 5 am. We recommend keeping up-to-date with official guidelines throughout your trip.

Exercise a high degree of caution

Foreigners are currently not allowed to enter Laos, except in very limited circumstances. To enter, you'll need prior approval from the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs and negative COVID-19 test conducted less than 72 hours before your travel. You'll also be required to quarantine for 14 days at a government designated venue at your own cost and obtain insurance to cover the cost of treatment during the quarantine period. We advise: Exercise a high degree of caution in Laos overall due to the impacts of COVID-19. Higher levels apply in some areas.
